ESVCF is fortunate to be affiliated with the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
What That Means
Under the terms of the relationship all ESVCF capital assets (the ESVCF “Family of Funds”) are held by the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, which provides ESVCF a number of services mainly in the areas of finance and donor development.
The availability of these services from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation enables ESVCF to keep its administrative costs low and to focus its energies on grant making and raising the permanent endowment dollars necessary to fund the foundation’s grant making over the long term.

In certain cases ESVCF also advises Hampton Roads Community Foundation on grant requests from Eastern Shore nonprofits that would be satisfied through the Hampton Roads Community Foundation's discretionary grant making programs.
Services Provided
Services provided by the Hampton Roads Community Foundation include the following:
- Finance – investment, accounting, annual auditing, and preparation of detailed quarterly statements for each fund within the ESVCF Family of Funds.
- Development – guidance and support related to donor development and assistance to professional advisors seeking to assist clients with planning charitable gifts or bequests.
- Grant Making – record keeping and disbursement of certain grant checks from the ESVCF Family of Funds.
