In 2012, the Foundation awarded nine grants from its unrestricted endowment to nonprofits on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.



Citizens for Central Park, LLC

$20,000 - to help with the cost of providing permanent handicap accessible and child friendly restrooms at the park



Onancock Volunteer Fire Department

$30,000 - to help fund the purchase and equipping of a new ladder truck for the fire department



Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence

$6,000 - to help the agency remain up to date in the field of technology by purchasing computers, related equipment and software


Eastern Shore of Virginia Habitat for Humanity

$20,000 - to go toward capital expenses to raise capacity to build homes for low income people in need



Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia

$10,000 - to assist with the purchase of a walk in cooler



Lighthouse Ministries

$15,000 - to assist with the campaign for the construction of a new addition




Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc.

$26,000 - for the purchase of a Panoramic X-ray System for the new Atlantic Facility


Chincoteague Island Arts, Inc.

$35,000 - to help with the replacement of the main roof on the Island Theatre on Chincoteague


Central Accomack Little League

$20,000 - to assist with the construction of an indoor baseball/softball facility    Central Accomack Little League
