In 2014, the Foundation awarded eleven grants from its unrestricted endowment to nonprofits on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.



North-Accomack Little League

$20,000 - to help with the replacement of an inadequate concession stand and help with the construction of permanent restroom facilities   littleleaguefacebook


Eastern Shore Literacy Council

$10,000 - to help fund the purchase of ten laptop computers, three office PC’s, software and accessories



$8,605 - for capital improvements to include mulch for the playground area (required to meet state licensing requirements), a concrete pad and sidewalk to extend the bicycle area and carpet replacement  


Accomack Northampton Pregnancy Center

$10,000 - for the purchase of new cribs, car seats, strollers and etc. for their baby boutique to assist the more than 200 young mothers currently helped by the center


American Red Cross - Lower Shore Chapter

$5,000 - to purchase a disaster trailer for Northampton County stocked with cots, blankets, shelter kits, cambros and coolers for use in shelters during emergencies


Association of Retarded Citizens

$1,665 - to replace office computer system and purchase a color printer with scanning ability


Society for Preservation of Onley Train Station

$20,910 - to build a small addition on the historic building to house a ADA compliant unisex bathroom, with a changing table, wash basin and comfort height toilet


Arts Enter Cape Charles

$15,000 - for help with repairs to the roof of the historic Palace Theatre in Cape Charles and re-roof the dance studio portion of the building



Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society

$70,000 - to help with renovations at Ker Place in Onancock to include a ADA compliant restroom, a standard restroom, a kitchen for catered events, handicap accessible ramp, and handicapped parking


Barrier Islands Center

$34,200 - for help with repairs to the porch of the Barrier Islands Center


Friends of Onancock School

$21,878 - for repair to the gutters, foundation and hallway floors
